Job Responsibilities:

Teach the theory and practical background for physical testing in a variety of exercise science career applications. Demonstrate, administer and engage the students in performing tests in the exercise science laboratory. 

The course should include as much of the following as possible:

  • Theory and rationale for test administration
  • Organizing and administering testing protocols
  • Administration of health medical questionnaire with patients and clients
  • Demonstration and performance of a variety of muscular power, strength and endurance tests.
  • Demonstration and performance of a variety of speed and agility tests
  • Demonstration and performance of a variety of flexibility and balance tests
  • Demonstration and performance of body composition and anthropometry tests
  • Demonstration and performance of maximal and submaximal anaerobic and aerobic capacity tests including VO2 max testing
  • Demonstration and performance of pulmonary function testing using spirometry
  • Demonstration and performance of blood lactate assessment
  • Demonstration and performance of muscle activation using electromyography
  • Demonstration and assessment of gait and jumping performance using a force platform
  • Demonstration and performance of orthopedic clinical exercise testing
  • Required: MS in Exercise Science or related field
