Lakeland University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of System Analyst and Report Writer. This position will be responsible for supporting existing software application and developing new applications to support the management information needs of the University.

Primary expectations include but are not limited to:

  • Support existing student and administrative software applications, including assisting with planning of upgrades and patches and updating integration between systems.
  • Analyze processes and workflows and identify solutions and recommendations for end users.
  • Analyze user system issues including determination of root cause of issue (software or operational) and develop recommendation for resolution.
  • Develop and implement appropriate solutions through software modifications, bug fixes, procedure modification, and user training.
  • Gather report requirements and create, manage and support standardized reports and data extracts.
  • Provide user training and basic system documentation on student and administrative software applications, software enhancements and modifications.
  • Develop technical documentation in accordance with standards for software design and development procedures.

Qualified candidates should possess the following skills, traits or experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of report writing in computer software applications. Preferred experience with higher education software systems such as: Jenzabar EX, Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution (JICS), PowerFAIDS.
  • Understanding and experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with reporting tools.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge or experience with data integration tools, desirable.
  • Project planning, management and executions skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people of various levels.
