The Graphic Design program in the School of Humanities and Fine Arts is partnering with area technical colleges to offer bachelor's completion programs in graphic design for graduates with an earned associate's degree in graphic design.

We are seeking part-time adjuncts to teach a variety of art and design courses at Lakeland's Green Bay and Milwaukee locations. We have immediate need for an adjunct instructor to teach ART 101: Drawing I during the Fall 2019 semester in Green Bay. There is a strong possibility of also hiring an adjunct for the same in Milwaukee.

Beyond Fall 2019, we are seeking adjunct instructors to teach a variety of courses, including: color theory, two-dimensional design, motion graphics, digital illustration, image editing, page layout, and digital photography.

Successful candidates will either hold at least a master's degree in graphic design or related field or hold a master's degree and have completed at least 18 graduate credits in graphic design or a related field. As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to provide a portfolio of their work and samples of student work.

  • Teach undergraduate course in art and graphic design.
  • Work with full-time faculty and dean to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives.
  • Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives.
  • Hold regular office hours on a weekly basis.
  • Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
  • Use university technology as directed.



  • Master's degree MFA preferred in either graphic design or a field related to art or graphic design.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of studio art methods and materials and/or graphic design methods and industry-standard software.
  • Professional experience in subject matter preferred.



  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk
  • No or very limited physical effort required
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
